A Return to Writing

The problem with not writing for a long time (in my case over a year) is that when you start back , it’s hard to choose where to start.

So many choices:

  1. Commentary on current events–ooh, hashed to death and (full-disclosure) I haven’t watched the news since the aftermath of the Capital Insurrection Jan 6 of ’21. So, while I have general opinions (I do catch snippets here and there on NPR) I just don’t have the stomach for pithy observation at the moment. This could likely change.
  2. Personal events, anecdotes, riveting stories about me and mine–these might be mildly amusing and none of my family has said I can’t write about them (but, in truth I haven’t told them I’m starting back on this blog.) I think that writing more often will open these avenues in the future because really, these people are hilarious and there’s some good stuff there.
  3. Unsolicited and truly meaningless observations about life in general and mine in particular. These might include random essays on love, holidays, work, music, movies, travel or whatever comes into my otherwise empty head.
  4. Reminiscing–a sweet walk down memory lane –with pictures
  5. Recipes–isn’t that what everyone writes about now? Their dinner–with pictures
  6. Finally, it occurred to me that it would fun to be an influencer–one of the hundreds of people out there who review products or create their own, post to Pinterest or Instagram or wherever, and somehow get famous. In fact if you look at the content of a lot of shelter (home) or food mags, you’ll see it comes from “influencers.” Are there any Senior Influencers????

So that’s it. You can expect a barage (or a trickle) from me on a fairly regular basis and it is likely to include any or all of the above. Especially until I settle into my new role as Senior Influencer and spend all my time trying out some new skin care product or taking pictures of my dinner.

If it gets too boring, let me know. If you like one thing in particular, I’d love to hear about it.

In the meantime, here’s my dinner, take-out from Boston Market. This picture came from their website. Give me a break, I’m new at this.
